With an eye to detail and easy to read yet sophisticated language use, Mintz accurately and completely highlights the details of the Jewish response to catastrophe and makes it accessible to all audiences.

A study of the history of Jewish exiles and genocide, and the literary expressions that attempt to make sense of these catastrophes.
